JusticeLaunch: early career pro bono engagement
HVL is starting an exciting new program called JusticeLaunch.
JusticeLaunch is HVL’s year-long professional development program for new attorneys. Through training, pro bono representation, networking, and mentorship, participants gain the skills, confidence, and support to make pro bono service a lasting part of their legal careers.
CLE Opportunities
Probate Basics: From Initial Filing to Final Documents
Build confidence in handling probate matters from the initial filing through the final documents. This practical, beginner-friendly CLE provides an overview of the most common probate proceedings, including affidavits of heirship, small estate affidavits, probate of a will and letters testamentary, and applications to determine heirship. Attendees will learn when each procedure is appropriate and how to determine the best approach for a particular estate. We’ll walk through the essential documents required for each type of probate case, with a focus on practical drafting considerations. Designed for attorneys who are new to probate or looking to strengthen their foundational skills, this CLE will provide a practical roadmap for confidently handling basic probate matters.

Learn how HVL is closing the justice gap for Family Law cases by providing volunteer opportunities for limited scope legal representation.

Family Law Drafting Clinic (ScribeHELP)
ScribeHELP is a perfect opportunity for attorneys seeking drafting practice, an intro to family law, or a fixed-time, meaningful volunteer opportunity.
Volunteers are responsible for meeting with a client virtually for a 1 – 1.5 hour appointment, providing advice, and drafting key documents that the client will take and file on their own.
